i lose 45 minutes of every single day remembering mark’s answer to “is sherlock saying i love you to john?” being “not unless he’s talking to a mirror for some very bizarre reason” and then dissociating
sherlock browsing his phone in the middle of the night while curled up next to john, whos sleeping, and sherlock finds an article he knows john will love or a meme he’ll laugh at and hes like darting his eyes back and forth to johns beautiful sleeping face knowing he shouldnt wake him up but he just really wants to show john the thing…very stressful but in the cutest way possible
sherlock is really relatable because i too have their first meeting committed to memory in 360 coverage and slow motion and replay it in my mind. we both also enjoy reading john’s first blog entry while going willingly to our deaths.
contemplating mary’s fake new york accent scene on the plane, wherein
the flight attendant tells her to relax, calling back to the birth scene
she’s hyperventilating and feels like she’s dying
the dude sitting in the window seat where john sits later with john’s swoop and john’s suit jacket does not give one single fuck
like why does this scene appear to tie together a) mary giving birth, b) mary appearing to be dying but actually merking someone else to do a body swap, and c) the debut of mary’s american accent
I am losing my mind over here because I think they recorded a voiceover of Sian Brooke on clips of Gina (Morgue!Faith, aka “real” Faith). I made very poor quality video clips (fam, if you know how to do this well and have time, perhaps you could help out!)
Here are five clips of Gina as Faith, but the voiceover, I believe, is Sian’s. I added an extra clip of Sian’s voice at the end to compare. The most prominent ones are “Ignorance is Bliss” and “I can’t remember who you were going to kill!”
Then the clip below is Gina’s voice. Very different, both in register, nasal (?) quality, and accent. (Also added the extra clip of Sian at the end)
Now, this is fucky. This is still TD 12 meeting, but we hear Gina.
Now please tell me if I’m crazy or if you also hear it! Sian recoded a voiceover for Gina’s scenes during TD 12 treatment-meeting!!!!!
That’s totally Sian there, they have different voices. And you know what? When I watched TLD for the first time I was going crazy because I noticed this actress was not Sian but I though: but that’s her voice!! It’s the same as E from TST! and I thought I was going crazy XD But why??? Why do this??? It’s the 3rd time I heard a voice changed in S4. We should look for more, I am sure there’s more.
Is the same sentiment expressed by your dead wife:
In your nightmare nde:
Even if you think TFP is real, this is a bit much, as passive-aggressive turns of phrase used in personal communications from the undead coincidences go.
If you are partial to the interpretation that TFP takes place in someone’s mind, this is a tick in the “John” column, I think. I’m pretty sure John wouldn’t have shared the contents of his text exchanges with “E” with Sherlock. He was down enough on himself for having had the text affair in the first place.
The thing that really gets me thinking about a Mary / Eurus connection, though, is the nature of the text affair itself. I was looking at the “affair reveal” scene in TST for a fic I’m working on, and the scene goes like this:
MARY: So? JOHN: Well, you said it was like ‘The Exorcist.’ They’re two different things. She can’t be the Devil and the Antichrist. (Mary sighs and closes her eyes. From the next bedroom, Rosie starts to cry. John opens his eyes and lifts his head slightly and they both look in the direction of the sound.) MARY: Yeah, can’t she? (John groans and drops his head back onto the pillow. Mary throws back her side of the duvet and gets up.) MARY: Coming, darling. (John pushes the top of the duvet down a little and presses the backs of his hands over his eyes for a moment. Mary heads for the other bedroom.) MARY: I’m coming. [Perhaps interestingly, the last time we saw this scene, she said, “Mummy’s coming.”] (On his bedside table, John’s phone chimes an incoming message. He rolls over and picks up the phone.) MARY (in a soothing voice offscreen, over the sound of Rosie wailing): Oh, what are you doing?! What are you doing?!
Okey dokey, so, here’s the thing. Married person A wants to have an affair, textual or otherwise, with presumably single person B. You know who contacts who? PERSON A. If person B initiates contact, then there are questions. A text comes during dinner. A phone call needs to be explained away.
So, Mary leaves the room, texts her boss Eurus; Eurus gets in touch with John. Mary returns, pings Eurus, the texts from “E” stop. It’s like clockwork. Sinister clockwork.
TST is Mary’s exit strategy. Marrying John to her and setting him up with a family has failed to burn the heart out of Sherlock, because Sherlock, as it turns out, is willing to try to sustain himself on a diet of a tiny slice of John’s affections and friendship, with a side of being friends with Mary. The next step is to release Mary from her assignment so she can go be Moran again. The step after that, is to kill John.
Okay, so we have Miss Me and Miss You. We have Mary invoking both Moriarty (when leaving her DVD extras for Sherlock) and Eurus (for John). We have Mary associating herself with both Moriarty and Eurus, the Devil and the Antichrist. “She can’t be both?” Well, Mary can. Or rather, she can invoke them both.
But John is also right: the Devil and the Antichrist are two different things. They are two parts of ultimate evil, but just as God is seen as a triumvirate in Christianity, there is also an unholy trinity.
The Holy Trinity of God is comprised of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is the Creator God, the Ruler of Heaven, the law and order god of the old testament; the bureaucratic authority.
The Son is Christ, the saviour martyr, who died on a cross for our sins…
…and was resurrected.
Lastly, we have The Holy Spirit, or the word of God. This is the communicator, the messenger, spreading God’s works to the people.
The Holy Spirit is an interpreter; no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God, and the moniker used in John 14:16 can also be translated as advocate, intercessor, counsellor or protector. (x)
The Unholy Trinity of Satan is comprised of the Devil, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet. The Devil is the mastermind of Evil, the Ruler of Hell. Also known as “the Dragon”, the Devil can be serpentine in form.
The Antichrist is Christ’s evil counterpart, the inverse of Christ, a dark mirror.
While Christ embodies self-sacrifice, the Antichrist, also known as “the Beast”, embodies selfishness with feral brutality.
The Antichrist is jealous, vengeful, and remorseless, and demands to be worshipped in Christ’s place.
The False Prophet is the anti-Holy Ghost: the false word of Satan. The False Prophet is lies and deceit incarnate, under the guise of a saintly prophet.
Although presented as a mild, benevolent person, the horns indicate that the False Prophet will have power. Jesus expressly warned to watch out for false prophets that may look innocent but actually can be very destructive. (x)
The False Prophet spreads the word of the Devil and the Antichrist, in hopes of luring people to believe false tales, bringing about destruction.
The False Prophet appeals to people, tricks them into trusting. The False Prophet is also an executioner, who kills those who do not worship Satan.
Oh, and the False Prophet will compel followers to receive a permanent mark of some kind, to show total devotion to Satan and renunciation of God.
